PENGARUH PELAKSANAAN TEKNIK RELAKSASI HYPNOBITHING TERHADAP PENURUNAN KECEMASAN IBU HAMIL TRIMESTER III DIWILAYAH KERJA PUSKESMAS PENIMBUNG KABUPATEN LOMBOK BARAT

Anxiety is a common mental disorder of uncertain etiology, characterized by extreme feelings of fear or worry. The World Health Organization (WHO) reports that the prevalence of anxiety during pregnancy is 8–10% and increases to 12% with each subsequent birth. A non pharmacological approach that can be applied is the hypnobirthing method. The aim of this study is to examine anxiety levels at the pre- and post-intervention stages of hypnobirthing relaxation techniques and to determine whether hypnobirthing relaxation can reduce anxiety among third trimester pregnant women. This study employed a pre-experimental one-group pretest–posttest design. The population comprised 217 third-trimester pregnant women, with 32 respondents selected through purposive sampling based on inclusion criteria. Data were analyzed using univariate and bivariate methods, and the Wilcoxon signed-rank test was performed with SPSS version 24. The results show that 56.3% of respondents experienced severe anxiety, which decreased to 6.2% after applying hypnobirthing relaxation techniques. The Wilcoxon signed-rank test yielded a p-value of 0.000 (≤ 0.05), supporting the alternative hypothesis and confirming statistical significance. In conclusion, hypnobirthing relaxation techniques is effective on reducing anxiety among third-trimester pregnant women. Healthcare providers, particularly midwives, are encouraged to adopt this method as an alternative non-pharmacological intervention to reduce anxiety during pregnancy.
