HUBUNGAN PEMBERIAN AIR SUSU IBU (ASI) EKSKLUSIF DENGAN STATUS GIZI PADA BAYI USIA USIA 6-9 BULAN DI DUSUN KEBON BAWAK KECAMATAN GUNUNGSARI KABUPATEN LOMBOK BARAT

One of nutritional status issue like malnutrition in babies is become a public health problem. Solution can't be done by only with medical and health services. Efforts to decrease malnutrition in babies age 6-9 months have been given counseling and health education by health workers to help parents, especially the mothers to gain a proper understanding of exclusive breastfeeding for their babies. This effort is not fully supported and carried out by mothers which is should give exclusively breastfeed to their children. The purpose of this research is to know the relationship of exclusive breastfeeding with nutritional status in babies age 6-9 months.
This research is a correlational study. The population in this research are all mothers and their babies age 6-9 months in village Kebon Bawak totaling 34 people. Data were collected using questionnaires, data from MCA book (Maternal and Child Health), observations and standard WHO-NCHS tables by weight for age, then analyzed using the chi square test.
Results of this research are of the 34 respondents surveyed, there were 30 respondents who exclusively breastfed their babies, while the nutritional status of babies age 6-9 months gained as much as 31 babies have good nutritional status and 3 babies have less nutritional status. By the results chi square test statistic χ2 value count (24.677) > χ2 table value (5.991) with a significance value of P (0,000) < 0.05 so H0 is rejected, which means that there is a relationship of exclusive breastfeeding on the nutritional status of babies age 6-9 months.
The conclusion from this research is the give of exclusive breastfeeding determine nutitional status of babies.
