Abstract
Introduction: In 2023, West Nusa Tenggara Province recorded 746 infant deaths, with 86.86%
occurring during the neonatal period. The main causes included asphyxia (24%), low birth weight
(40.5%), jaundice (0.73%), sepsis (4.25%), congenital anomalies (14.4%), COVID-19 (0.1%), and
others (15.85%). Neonatal jaundice is among the three leading contributors to infant mortality in the
region.
Objective: This study investigates the relationship between cesarean section and neonatal jaundice
in newborns aged 0–7 days admitted to the NICU of Dompu General Hospital.
Methode: This study employed an analytical correlational design with a cross-sectional approach.
The population included all neonates aged 0–7 days admitted to the NICU of Dompu General
Hospital, comprising 2,170 neonates during the period 2024–2025. A random sampling technique
was applied to select the study sample.
Results: Most neonates in this study were delivered by cesarean section (297 cases, 88.1%). Among
